Emotional rollercoaster at the 24h of Le Mans: BMW factory team denied victory. Le Mans. The season opener of the 2026 FIM Endurance World Championship (FIM EWC) turned into an emotional rollercoaster for BMW Motorrad Motorsport. However, technical issues in the final third of the race set the factory team back. Michael van der Mark, Markus Reiterberger, and Steven Odendaal form the core trio. In the FIM EWC, the BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team, led by Team Manager Werner Daemen, came very close to the world championship last season. Less than 30 minutes separated the team from the title at the season finale, the Bol d’Or in France. A technical failure ultimately pushed them back to third place in the championship, earning them the title of “World Champions of Hearts.” The lineup of the #37 BMW M 1000 RR changes only in one spot for 2026: Michael van der Mark (NED) joins the team. The 2026 FIM Endurance World Championship EWC schedule is once again taking us to some of the best tracks in the world. RD 1: 24 Heures Motos – April 18–19, 2026 RD 2: 8 Hours of Spa – June 6, 2026 RD 3: 8 Hours of Suzuka – July 5, 2026 RD 4: Bol d’Or – September 19–20, 2026 Pre-Le Mans testing is scheduled for March 31 to April 1, 2026.

Le Castellet. At the Bol d’Or at Le Castellet (FRA), BMW Motorrad Motorsport and the BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team experienced just how tough and dramatic endurance racing can be. At the 2025 season finale of the FIM Endurance World Championship (FIM EWC), the team was only 28 minutes away from securing what would have been BMW’s historic first title in the series. Running second in the race, Markus Reiterberger (GER), Sylvain Guintoli (FRA), and Steven Odendaal (RSA) were on course for the world championship crown with the #37 BMW M 1000 RR. FIM EWC Suzuka: BMW Motorrad EWC moves up to second in World Championship

Suzuka. The BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team has taken a significant step forward in the battle for the title in the 2025 FIM Endurance World Championship (FIM EWC). At the third of four rounds in the season, the prestigious Suzuka 8 Hours (JPN), Markus Reiterberger (GER), Steven Odendaal (RSA), and Michael van der Mark (NED) finished fifth aboard the #37 BMW M 1000 RR. Successful pre-test in Suzuka, Japan last week ahead of the Suzuka 8 Hours! Bike #37 was in the TOP 5 on all days with a strong pace right from the first laps. The testing duties were shared between Markus Reiterberger, Steven Odendaal # 4, and special guest Michael van der Mark. On the final day, we clocked the 2nd fastest time, just behind the factory Honda HRC squad The Suzuka 8 Hours race will take place on August 3, 2025.

Spa-Francorchamps. Round two of the FIM Endurance World Championship (FIM EWC) took place at Spa-Francorchamps (BEL). The BMW M 1000 RR delivered strong results, with the BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team securing second place overall. In the Superstock class, the Champion-MRP-Tecmas team claimed pole position and a class victory. From start to finish, persistent rain during the 24 Hours of Le Mans (FRA) created extremely treacherous conditions. In this eventful endurance marathon, the BMW teams demonstrated the potential of the BMW M 1000 RR.
